Navigating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Online Classroom

Hosted by the AAP Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, this workshop will introduce Advanced Academic Programs instructors to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom. Join Dr. Tristan Cabello (Associate Director of the Master of Liberal Arts) and Dr. Patricia Hernandez (Assistant Director of the MA in Communication) to discuss strategies to navigate social justice, social identity, oppression, and difficult conversations in the classroom. This workshop will help instructors create an inclusive environment by acquiring a thorough understanding of implicit bias, micro-aggressions, power, and privilege. Practical examples will be presented throughout the workshop, as well as information regarding assistance and resources that instructors might use at Johns Hopkins University.

All AAP full-time and part-time faculty are strongly encouraged to attend.
